Law of Attraction: Beyond Mental Movies and Poor Results
 

 

Law of attraction is a term that is heard much more commonly now since the movie The Secret by Rhonda Bryne has been such a big hit.

 

I remember when I first became aware of the term at least ten years ago, it seemed a bit “out there”, but I found it interesting enough to begin to investigate it back then. The more I learned, the clearer it became that it was really not a new concept at all.

You see, I realized that I had been attracting what I focused on with belief all of my life. The problem was, in those days, most of what I focused on was what I did not want! Actually, most people make this mistake.

For example, most people are focusing on fear, lack and the negative headlines about our economy and so it is no wonder that things continue to take a downward slide. I read every day about the rise in stress and emotional depression. Is it any wonder?

It is the Law of Attraction at work. What you focus on with feeling will expand. This is a major key as to why the “secret does not work” for most people. Most people are trying to use the Law of Attraction to attract more money, success, happy relationships, etc.; however, what they do not realize is that the other name for the Law of Attraction is “The Law of Vibration”.

 

Attraction is based on “like attracts like” and most people’s vibration is on the level of LACK, not abundance and it is totally unconscious. This is the problem. You can run positive mental movies all day long and FEEL fear, lack, unforgivingness/bitterness and anger and thus be producing a vibration or “vibe” that will cancel out your positive mental movie.

 

Feelings have a much stronger electromagnetic vibratory attractive force than do thoughts.In order to consciously co-create, you must be congruent, or in agreement, between thoughts and feelings. In the past, I used to have negative mental images and negative feelings fairly frequently, so according to the Law of Attraction, I easily co-created negative situations and circumstances.

 

As I saw my results and focused on them with more negative feelings of anger and resistance, I unconsciously sent out more negative vibes and you can see how it can become a negative feedback loop. Well, if this is your habit pattern, don’t be surprised if it takes some effort to break the old habit and wire into your brain and nervous system a new habit of being positive.

It takes conscious effort to do this. Also, memory is stored in your body at the cellular level, which means that you will need to use methods of energy release to heal your bio-magnetic energy field from carrying those old, negative “vibes” of feeling energy. These methods can include Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), guided imagery, meditation, even bodywork.

 

It can certainly be done, and the more you practice, the easier it gets. So realize that the Law of Attraction is alive and well, but you will have to learn how to feel good along with those mental movies and retrain your brain by going to the “gym for the mind”. That is, if you want to stop using the Law negatively as you are currently doing if you are not getting your desired results.
