Visioning by Design: What’s the Difference Between Thinking and Believing?

Law of Attraction is tied to what I call “visioning by design”. Visioning by design is applicable to your business or to your personal life. As an eye surgeon, vision has always been near and dear to my heart in the literal sense, and as someone who has always had an interest in personal growth and living with purpose and personal power, “life vision” is also top of mind.  Belief is what will bring the experience of your vision to your life, not just “thinking about it”.

When I first heard of the Law of Attraction back in the 1990’s I dismissed it as “spooky” as I was still tangled up in a limited, closed mindset. I finally found the courage to leave the crowd that was influencing me to stay stuck and I have never looked back. One thing I have found true is that we can own more of our true personal power as we learn how to integrate our life, bringing our authentic Self to business and personal life.

One reason why there is so much illness, lack of business innovation and skyrocketing dysfunction in relationship (at the extreme is war – conflict in relationship – and we’ve seen a lot of this in our lifetime), is that we do not understand our inner relationship to “self”. As people, we don’t understand our brain or nervous system and it’s role in co-creation and Law of Attraction. We have trained our brain to live in a perception or paradigm of fear, victim mindset/consciousness and competition.

We are creating a vision for our life and society that is distorted and we live in a world that is quite nightmarish at times. Do you have a dream that you have not been able to see clearly in your mind’s eye? Are you so out of touch with your feelings that the only ones that are familiar to you are painful or unpleasant? Do you have the health and relationships that you desire? How about business life, is networking something you enjoy, collaborating with others or do you feel burdened by your connection to people, always comparing and judging yourself against some vague standards of how you, “should be?”

This is where using the new information on brain science can be so useful. It is your “logical” left-brain hemisphere that can keep you stuck on the “known world”. This world of familiarity is really only conditioned beliefs that worked for you at one time and if you keep your mind open, you can learn new ways of being that help you to feel good and live with more ease and prosperity.

Law of Attraction: Make Believe with Feeling Makes Belief

Law of attraction is often written off as, “that stuff doesn’t work” because most people do not understand the difference between imagining images and belief. I want to say upfront, I’m not addressing the cynics of the world. I’m not speaking to people who think, “Oh, so if I imagine I can fly, I can turn into a bird”.

If you are in this group, keep doing whatever you are doing – whatever paradigm you are living under, keep going for it, I wish you well. I’m addressing people who want to understand better how their mind and brain work and how they can begin to have conscious choice about their business and personal life experiences.

When we were children, we often played, “make believe” and pretended to take on all manner of characters. We could be a princess, a princess warrior or a doctor – all in one day. After about first grade the adults started with the “grow up” conditioning so for the most part, we stopped using our imaginations consciously and instead we start to unconsciously image all the things we are afraid could happen – like lose our jobs or drama scenes from our relationships.

By “grow up” it’s generally meant, worry about staying “safe” and face “reality” – the taught reality of “FEAR” – Fictitious Evidence Affecting Reality. Yet, Einstein said,

“Imagination is more important than knowledge”.

Why? If you understand how to properly use the power of imagination and reconnect with the understanding of what feelings are and what they are designed for, you can begin to accomplish your goals faster and easier be they in business, relationships or health. The distinction here is “belief”.

Entrepreneurship: 5 Simple Steps to Take Ideas from Fantasy to Finished with Least Effort

Entrepreneurship is on the rise and change is occurring rapidly in the workplace. When I first entered the arena of entrepreneurship over 20 years ago, I had the mindset of “hard work and struggle”. Since I tend to have significant will power, I was able to push ahead and “make it happen”.

I could have had the same outcome with a lot less effort had I known then what I know now. It is a good thing that I am more aware these days about the importance of mindset as I have transitioned from being a medical business entrepreneur to a speaker, trainer and “mindset coach” using neuroscience and intuition as a part of my skill set.

I say it’s a good thing because it is much harder to avoid distraction and to “push ahead” these days than it was back then. If one is not aware of how to stay focused and present, it can easily seem like there are not enough hours in a day and there seems to be a never-ending “to-do” list for most people.

Neuroscience is now supporting many of the concepts that I have used over that past decade to learn how to calm the mind down, have more “time” and bring to form ideas and goals much easier than just using the force of willpower and “hard work”. It takes persistence, discipline and diligence, yes, “hard work” – no.

Hard work is a paradigm; it is the old “work by the sweat of your brow”. When you are clear about coming from authentic center and learn how to change your focus from fear to faith by engaging your brain to support you instead of using it in a way that holds you back you can transition into entrepreneurship easier.

This is very important if you are ever going to earn the type of income that you desire and create a business that is more than just a “hobby”. 3 Keys to Breakthrough What’s Blocking Your Successful Goal Setting

Goal setting is a common topic this time of year. There is new hope for a new year and hope is always a great thing in my eyes. Of course, many people seem to fear disappointment so much that they sadly, have a chronic sense of hopelessness.

What really stops people from effective goal setting is, “what they don’t know that they don’t know”. As a society, we still believe in the illusion that we can change our lives if only we had the information to do it. Information is a part of the equation yet what is most important is, how you view your sense of “self”.

Henry Ford had it right a long time ago; if you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right. Said another way that is more precise is, “if you feel you can, or you feel you can’t, you are right”. Feelings will trump thinking every time unless you have very, very strong will power.

In fact, the science is showing that the magnetic power of feeling is 5,000 greater than thought alone and when you stop and ponder this a moment it will make sense. For example, do you remember where you were on September 11, 2001 – 911? Most people here in the United States do, not because their memory capacity is so remarkable. No, it’s because of the power of the EMOTION that accompanied the event.

Emotion wires thought into the brain and the stronger the emotion, the deeper the memory goes into the cellular memory of the body. This is great news if you are feeling great and full of gratitude. However, if you are like many, many people, you are often worried, overwhelmed and focusing on what you DON’T want.

This leads to more overwhelm and worry, as we know from science that what you focus the brain and mind on only expands. You keep seeing more of the same, over and over again because you have wired your perception this way. This also goes for the way that you feel/believe about your sense of identity. The really tricky piece to this is that 90% of what we really believe is out of our awareness, so you may try to talk yourself into thinking you are confident and invincible, yet what shows up in your life is showing you what you REALLY believe. The mirror of life does not lie.

This is why it is so critical to begin to learn how to become more aware and operate your brain with this awareness. So, as you are setting those big 2011 goals, don’t just list out things to do, learn about how perception in your brain works so that you can learn how to BE the person that can DO the behaviors that you are wanting to achieve. 5 Keys to Attracting the Change that You Want in Business and Life

Business and personal life are directly connected, with the common denominator being you, haven’t you noticed? It’s time to integrate ourselves into the whole being that we are. Law of Attraction is simply this: the vibrational pattern of energy from thought and feeling that is affecting your perceptional system and connecting with like thoughts and feelings from others.

It’s the old, “I like or don’t like your vibes”. It is also being drawn toward and “seeing” in the world around you what you really believe at a subconscious, bodily level. This is the blueprint to change. You can only “see” in your world, what you are expecting to see or believe in general.Science now can document this.

It happens all the time that when people come up against something they don’t believe, they even say, “I just can’t see that”, or “I can’t understand why or how”, etc. Belief is the feeling in your mind and body that you wired initially into your brain and nervous system. Belief is simply a thought that you keep thinking with feeling. If there is no feeling and it is not at a visceral, body feeling level, then you are only in your head, “wishful thinking”.

If belief is thinking with feeling then it can be changed. There is also a prevailing belief that one must cling to their beliefs as if it were life and death. This belief too can be changed. It only feels like this because you are not aware yet that you’ve attached your sense of identity to the belief so you take it personally if the belief is confronted. I’ve come to believe what I believe until I change my mind. Some of the beliefs that I hold are outdated and no longer serve my evolutionary growth toward my highest good. It is simply time for them to go or be updated.

I know we are taught that “doing” xyz steps is the way we change or learn. This is deceptive because change really starts with “being”. Haven’t you notice at work that just being told to do something, or even how to do it, does not make it stick?

Business and Law of Attraction: 3 Key Reasons Why Positive Affirmations Do Not Work

Law of Attraction was presented to the masses of people popularly via the movie “The Secret”. I know this movie often receives a lot of criticism, however I’m glad that it opened the doors to the conversation of our role in co-creation. Of course the Law of Attraction is not simply “positive thinking”.

It is also not about becoming paranoid if you have a negative thought. (For the record, negative and positive are relative terms of judgment). The idea of positive thinking is not new, as there were many books written about it even decades ago.

It is very important to realize though that your thoughts do absolutely contribute to the “reality” that you experience and this is now science. If this still sounds like “woo-woo” to you, I have to tell you that you simply don’t know what you don’t know.  In business and life, if you can make your life easier and more enjoyable and on purpose, why not learn how to do so? One of the main missing ingredients though is the energy of feelings.

You see feelings carry far more magnetic and electrical energy than thought alone. It acts as the glue that wires thought into the body’s nervous system and thus, cellular memory. Once we wire our brain, either with strong emotional response or through repetition, it goes into the subconscious mind. This is when you go on autopilot as far as the action or behavior that is wired is concerned.

This is fine if you like the response and it serves to help you experience your hearts desire. If you have all of the love, joy, peace and abundance you desire great – though we all know that circumstances in business and life are constantly changing.

Law of Attraction: The Secret to Getting the LOA to Work FOR You

Law of Attraction is always at work whether you realize it or not. The question is, are you using it consciously or unconsciously? Most people do not realize that the Law of Attraction is also known as the Law of Vibration. This is because vibrational patterns of energy are what the Universe is based upon within the creative process – like attracts like.

Law of Attraction: It’s Mind INTO Matter, Not Over It

The Law of Attraction essentially is about “like attracts like”. We live in a vibratory universe, and since everything is energy, (this IS science and not woo-woo by the way), it makes sense to me that if you want to make a change in your life, you start with the basics.

The basic building block of our lives is energy. Our thoughts, feelings and emotion are composed of energy. This electromagnetic energy, which is the “stuff” that wires our circuits in our nervous system, ultimately leads to the actions that our body takes or what we create from our imaginative minds.

We’ve had it backwards in so many ways. One way is the idea of “mind over matter” which is like trying to control or change a building after it is built. It is often even the idea that we can “pretend” we don’t see something and that somehow our ignoring it will make it disappear.

It’s the old affirmations and positive self-talk without the energy, the power of belief to make it happen. Well, Law of Attraction actually works in a conscious manner when you start to realize that what you think and FEEL about, you bring about.

The Law of Attraction is working at all times. It’s just that most people are so into blaming and feeling like a victim that they don’t realize that the negative feelings of judgment, self-rejection and lack thinking keeps showing up as the “matters” of their life and they are co-creating the chaos!

Then, once it shows up, they try to “mind over matter it” which is why life feels like so much hard work and struggle. It keeps you feeling off balance as you try to walk the tightrope of your life.  I use to do this for sure.

Law of Attraction: Emotion Runs the Engine:

Law of AttractionLaw of attraction is working whether you realize it or not. There’s a lot of conversation over the Internet regarding the Law of Attraction. I think it is a great sign that people are becoming aware of our responsibility or “response-ability” in creating our life’s circumstances.

As we start the New Year, it is also common to hear references to “New Year’s Resolutions” or goals. A new year gives new hope for new beginnings and hope is certainly a good thing. I once heard someone criticize the idea regarding telling people that they can expect more from life and to take proactive steps life by developing a new vision or using affirmations.

The complaint was, believe it or not was that it was wrong to “give those poor people hope”. Well, that seems like a sorry statement to me. What’s wrong with a little hope?

See hope is an emotional expectation and many people are afraid of their emotions, in fact I believe we are conditioned to avoid feeling our emotions. Also, there is the factor that as little children, we did not understand how to manage inharmonious emotion (“negative” charge), so we learned to fear them easily.

They remind the child that they are not receiving unconditional love or a form of rejection and very young children don’t know how to manage this well. You see, we come in here all bright eyed and expecting to be loved, and though we are to a degree, the expression is all over the map.

If our environment is fear based, we are often not optimally emotionally nourished. Hence, most of us do not know how to manage our emotions in a healthy way.

Law of Attraction: Is Your Mind-Set Tuned to Success?

Law of AttractionThe Law of Attraction is also known as The Law of Vibration. We live in a vibratory universe. I like to break down the word universe into its components- “uni” (one) and “verse” (song). Hence you can interpret the meaning to say “one song”. The more harmony we have between our head and heart, the more lovely the melody of our life.

The vibration you tune into will be what you resonate with. Therefore, if you want to attract the higher frequencies associated with love, you will need to raise your “vibe”. Haven’t you ever walked into a room and felt its “vibe”?

You see we have been using this terminology for years, but now there is an increasing awareness of what was being noticed unconsciously. The more conscious, or aware that you can become regarding your thoughts and feelings, the more you are able to attune yourself to those frequencies of feelings that bring joy and more of what you want.

This all begins with your mindset. If you are not aware and clear in your intention setting, the tendency is to default to lower, negative thinking patterns. Haven’t you noticed the Internet headlines, or when you are out and about that it is very common to hear “doom and gloom” more often than what uplifts and inspires you?

If you want to start the New Year off successfully, you will need to start tuning your mindset to success now. It is not going to just happen because you say you want it to. It is not so much your conscious thought as it is your FEELINGS, that matter. Actually, while your conscious thought can lead off and point the way, in order to change your vibration to align with success, you have to feel successful now.

The Law of Attraction is measuring the vibration of your feelings in present time, now. Now is your point of power to change. If you cloud your mind with past or future worry, you weaken your focus to create NOW.

According to studies done at the HeartMath Institute in Boulder Creek, California, the energy of the heart is 5,000 greater that that of thought alone. You will have to put your heart into it if you really want results. Just staying in your head is not going to make much of a difference.
